P388D1 cell line was derived from lymphoma induced by methylcholanthrene. Under the induction of LPS and phorbol ester, P388D1 cells can produce IL-1 and lysozyme. They can phagocytize zymosan and latex microspheres and are active in the antibody-dependent, cell-mediated cytotoxic system. P388D1 cells are surface immunoglobulin (sIg) negative and mouse pox virus negative.
