EA.hy926 cell line is a human umbilical vein cell line constructed by fusing primary cultured human umbilical vein cells with the A549 clone strain resistant to thioguanine under PEG stress. The fusant grows on HAT medium and is selected using factor VIII-related antigen. EA.hy926 cells have undergone more than 100 population doublings (PDLs). Electron microscopy images reveal the cytoplasmic distribution of Weibel-Palade bodies and tissue-specific organelles, as well as differentiated endothelial cell characteristics such as angiogenesis, homeostasis-thrombosis, blood pressure, and inflammatory response.
