EL4 cell line was established from lymphomas induced in C57BL mice with 9,10-dimethyl-1,2-benz(a)anthracene. EL4 cells are resistant to 0.1 mM hydrocortisone and sensitive to 20 mcg/mL PHA. EL4 cells also have a subline (EL4.IL-2) that can produce high levels of IL-2.
